Introducing the Radiant Hope Podcast: Why I Started It and What to Expect

Today is a day I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.

The Radiant Hope Podcast is officially live, and I’m so glad you’re here for it.

I would like to take a few minutes to explain why I started this, who it’s for, and what you can expect going forward, because context matters. And because I want you to know this podcast wasn’t started casually; it came from a deep conviction that people need what God’s Word offers and that too many people never get to experience it.

Why I Started This

I’ve been doing counseling for years. In that time, I’ve sat with people in some of the hardest seasons of their lives, like seasons of anxiety, grief, broken relationships, and deep uncertainty about whether God was present in any of it.

What I’ve seen, repeatedly, is that the Bible is not silent on these matters. It’s remarkably specific and remarkably tender in its treatment of human suffering. But many people never get to experience that, either because no one has walked them through it or because they’ve encountered a version of biblical counsel that felt cold, dismissive, or disconnected from real life.

I started the Radiant Hope Podcast to bring those conversations beyond the counseling room. To reach the person who can’t access counseling right now. To resource the friend who doesn’t know how to help someone they love. To equip the pastor, the small-group leader, and the parent who is seeking more than easy answers.

This podcast is that something more.

Who It’s For

The Radiant Hope Podcast is for you if:

  • You’re walking through something hard and want more than a quick fix
  • You love someone who is struggling and don’t know how to help
  • You’re curious about biblical counseling and want to understand what it actually is
  • You want to grow in applying God’s Word to the whole of your life, not just the comfortable parts

If any of that resonates, welcome. I made this for you.

What to Expect

Each episode of the Radiant Hope Podcast will be a focused, accessible conversation on a topic that matters, rooted in Scripture, honest about the complexity of real life, and aimed at pointing you toward genuine hope.

Topics we’ll be covering include the following:

  • What biblical counseling is and what it isn’t
  • How to bring your anxiety, grief, and fear to God honestly
  • What Scripture actually says about the heart and human suffering
  • Exposing the quiet sins that no one likes to talk about.
  • Walking through the common marriage questions

New episodes release every Tuesday. They’re designed to be the kind of thing you can listen to on a walk, during a commute, or whenever you have a few quiet minutes.

I decided to start with What Biblical Counseling Actually Is.

It’s a topic I feel strongly about because biblical counseling is widely misunderstood, sometimes dismissed as simplistic, and sometimes practiced in ways that cause real harm. In this first series, I want to set the record straight: what it actually is, how it relates to other forms of counseling, and why I believe it’s one of the most hope-giving things the church has to offer.

If you’ve ever been curious, skeptical, or simply unfamiliar with biblical counseling, this episode is the place to start.

Thank you for being here. Whether you’ve been following Radiant Hope Biblical Counseling from the beginning or you just stumbled across this today, I’m glad you found it.

This podcast exists because I believe hope is real. Not as a feeling, not as wishful thinking, but as a Person and as a promise that God’s Word has something true and good to say about every hard thing we face.

I hope you’ll listen. And if it means something to you, I hope you’ll share it with someone who needs it.

With hope,

Dave
